Orthodontic Treatments

It is more difficult to maintain oral hygiene with crooked teeth, and therefore, gingival diseases and caries occur more easily. In addition, when the jaw joint relationship is broken, chewing cannot be done completely, and some problems begin in the digestive system. In cases where the upper and lower teeth are not fully compatible with each other, too much load can be placed on the jaw joint or a single tooth, causing painful and difficult-to-treat problems. In cases where the front teeth are too far forward or backward, some sounds cannot be pronounced correctly and speech problems occur. In some cases, problems can be seen not only in the teeth, but also in the skeletal system. Because the upper and lower jaws or both are not in the correct position, the patient cannot perform chewing and speaking functions. Aesthetically, prominent skeletal asymmetry can be seen. In this case, a surgical procedure covering the upper and lower jaws is performed in addition to orthodontic treatment. Thanks to this treatment called orthognathic surgery, it is ensured that the individuals whose growth development has been completed come to the correct jaw and tooth occlusion and that the missing functions are corrected.
